There is a new campaign that shows corporate America is all in on making President Trump a little less “America First” and a lot more “Make America Wealthy Again.” This all-in-the-name-of-business initiative is stirring quite the controversy and raises some eyebrows regarding who gets to work in this country. Those determined to fill key job positions with low-wage migrant labor seem to be taking advantage of what they perceive as an opportunity to sway the President and key GOP lawmakers in their favor.
This so-called “Make America Wealthy Again” strategy, as outlined in some recent coverage, seems like a lobbyist’s dream—if that dream involves shoveling low-wage workers into positions that many Americans would actually prefer. It is out with “draining the swamp” and in with a coordinated flood of lobbyists who are attempting to persuade Trump that a bunch of inexpensive foreign laborers is just what he needs to keep his golf courses and businesses running smoothly. Apparently, the thought process is that if the President’s properties look good and function effectively, a few American workers getting pushed out the door won’t be such a big deal.
Pro-migration & #H1B lobbyists are submerging Trump in a sea of pro-migration friends and allies.
That could be a windfall for low-wage biz stocks but disastrous for the economy, citizens, the GOP's new coalition & Trump.

It’s worth noting that while these lobbyists are trying to corner Trump’s business allies to get their way, it doesn’t take a genius to realize they’re leaving out fundamental concerns about what these changes might mean for American workers and future elections. The likes of Stephen Miller, fiercely anti-immigration guard dog of the White House, are evidently not on this lobbyist’s Christmas card list as he stands in stark opposition to the influx of foreign workers. But this doesn’t seem to deter Trump’s allies who have decided that leveraging industry connections might be the best way to get the President on board with what they want.
In addition to pushing Trump’s buttons, these lobbyists are also targeting congressional lawmakers like Rep. Glenn Thompson. Their objective appears similarly shameless: apply overwhelming pressure to encourage support for low-wage labor from foreign countries, shifting the traditional job market dynamics. This crafty plan seems to be a trap to get Congress onboard with ideas that directly contradict the President’s original political agenda, potentially alienating the very voters who propelled him to victory in 2016.
Moreover, while this “Make America Wealthy Again” lobby is squeezing Trump and his allies, it coincidentally exposes cracks in the very coalition that lifted him. The danger here is pronounced: If business interests outweigh the voices of average Americans who want jobs, families, and fair wages, hold onto your hats, because the consequences could be catastrophic. Just look at global friends like Trudeau and Sunak, who both took hits after playing the immigration game.
On top of all that, working-class voters, who made up the backbone of Trump’s support, seem increasingly fed up with any initiative that benefits foreign workers at their expense. With the increasing arrival of skilled white-collar workers through programs like H-1B, many Americans are feeling shoved out of career opportunities. It’s a labor market twist of fate, and this lobbying push appears determined to seal the deal on a further decline in American jobs. If the lobbyists win out, it looks like Trump might find himself on the slippery slope of America’s workforce not being quite so “great” anymore.
