Democrats Panic as Biden’s Health Raises Concerns for 2024 Election

The Biden train wreck continues to barrel down the tracks, oblivious to the cries for help from his Democrat colleagues. It seems even the left-leaning folks can’t ignore the obvious: President Joe Biden’s ailing health is becoming a glaring liability for their 2024 ambitions. Still, Biden digs in his heels, defiantly refusing to step aside and let someone more coherent take the wheel.

For ages now, Biden’s camp has been in a state of denial, patting the president on the back for his, let’s call it, “unique” debate performances against the energetic former President Donald Trump. In a masterclass of irony, Democrats are now desperate for Biden to somehow demonstrate he can defeat Trump this November, even as reality and every reputable poll show a very different story.

According to the Washington Post, even Biden’s inner circle—union leaders and senior campaign staff—signaled red alerts, biting their nails about the very real possibility that the president won’t make it past the finish line. Biden’s campaign spokesman, ever the optimist, insisted they are doing the work that wins elections, perhaps overlooking the work that involves actually having a viable candidate.

At a secretive gathering on Wednesday, union leaders demanded a concrete battle plan from Biden, suspecting that the 81-year-old is running purely on fumes, with no real strategy to outmuscle Trump. Sen. Patty Murray got candid, urging Biden to do more to prove he’s got the fight left in him, or better yet, bow out gracefully to preserve what’s left of his so-called legacy.

But the comedy gold came last week when Biden confidently proclaimed he would beat Donald Trump again in 2020. Yes, you read that right. The current year, 2024, seemed to slip his mind, reinforcing why Democrats might want to gift him an early retirement plan.

Sen. Peter Welch made headlines by becoming the first senator to call for Biden’s retirement from the race, pointing out the unavoidable questions about Biden’s health that arose from his debate performances. Just a day before, Welch was still toeing the party line by supporting Biden, highlighting the seismic shift in confidence among Democrat ranks.

Adding insult to injury, Sen. Michael Bennet told Democrats at a caucus meeting that he doesn’t believe Biden has what it takes to secure a win in the upcoming elections. The writing on the wall couldn’t be clearer, but Biden seems determined to close his eyes and hope it disappears.
