It looks like the Democratic Party is clocking in overtime to keep the Joe Biden ship from sinking faster than his approval ratings. The 81-year-old president, who would be pushing 86 by the end of a second term, is making everyone wait with bated breath to see if he will stay in the 2024 presidential race or step aside — the latter might be an early Christmas miracle for some.
Hawaii Governor Josh Green is fanning the flames of speculation faster than a liberal banning plastic straws. Green hinted that everyone will find out soon if the president plans to continue his political adventure or finally realize it’s time to ride into the sunset. According to Green, Biden is either waiting for an epiphany on his unwinnable position or for his inner circle to break through with some much-needed common sense.

Biden’s age and penchant for verbal fumbles have been the elephant in the room that even a Democrat couldn’t ignore – and judging by his most recent debate performance, the elephant ran rampant. The president’s moments of confusion and incoherence put even the best Democrat spin doctors to the test. They tried to defend him, while a few in his own party have called for him to step down gracefully, if not for the sake of the nation, then at least to save them from more electoral embarrassment.
Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut weighed in, saying Biden still needs to prove he’s up to this high-stakes game of political poker. Murphy suggested the president should hit the stage more often for town halls and press conferences, perhaps forgetting that such scenarios have not been Biden’s forte lately. But hey, when you’re grasping at straws, you might as well go big.
Meanwhile, Green showed he’s ready to pivot to the next act, throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris if Biden bows out. He’s preaching that her credentials are second to none, but skeptics might argue that Harris’ record isn’t as spotless as claimed. In any case, the Democrats appear to be bracing for a Plan B starring Kamala, providing endless entertainment for conservative spectators.
This circus isn’t leaving town soon, and as Biden inches closer to a decision, one thing’s for sure: popcorn sales are about to skyrocket.
