In a recent report by RedState, it appears that Democrats are starting to acknowledge the harsh reality of Joe Biden’s chances in the 2024 election. The disastrous consequences of “Bidenomics” and the complete chaos in his foreign policy have caused his popularity to plummet, putting him in a worse position than Jimmy Carter during his failed re-election attempt. Democrats can no longer deny the truth.
David Axelrod, former chief strategist for Barack Obama, took to social media to address this issue, making it clear that Democrats are genuinely concerned about Biden’s potential loss to Donald Trump in the next election. It’s a nightmare scenario for them, and they are desperate to find a solution. However, their proposed solution raises some valid questions.
The @POTUS is justly proud of his accomplishments. Trump is a dangerous, unhinged demagogue whose brazen disdain for the rules, norms, laws and institutions or democracy should be disqualifying. But the stakes of miscalculation here are too dramatic to ignore.

The idea that Kamala Harris would fare any better as the Democratic standard-bearer is highly dubious. The evidence suggests that she is one of the worst politicians in modern history. In a recent interview with 60 Minutes, Harris’s statement that Biden “is very much alive” hardly inspires confidence in the American public. It’s not exactly a reassuring endorsement from a vice president.
This situation brings to mind an observation that has been made for quite some time now. It’s difficult to imagine a scenario where someone other than Harris replaces Biden without it turning into a catastrophic event for the Democratic Party. Consider the potential backlash of racism and misogyny accusations if Gavin Newsom tried to swoop in and take over. Democrats may be itching for that kind of swap, but they’re backed into a corner.
This predicament is the result of Democrats making a deal with the devil by electing a senile geriatric who chose his vice president based on identity politics. They are reaping the consequences of their actions. There is no third option for the Democrats that puts them back in power. It’s either Biden or Harris, and neither seems like a winning choice. Perhaps next time, they should think twice before rigging their own primary for short-term gains.
