Dems Blame Trump in Funding Fracas, GOP Readies Impeachment Guns

Well, hot diggity dog! The congressional drama is heating up over this here supplemental funding bill, and let me tell ya, there’s more finger-pointing goin’ on than a wild west shootout. The Democrats and some Senate Republicans, like ol’ Mitt Romney, are giving the stink eye to President Trump, blaming him for all their troubles. Meanwhile, folks like Ted Cruz are yellin’ from the rooftops, “Whoa there, Nelly!” warning about the whole shebang.

Now, the House, bless its heart, is still under Republican control, with none other than Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) makin’ sure his two cents is heard loud and clear. In a “Dear Colleague” letter, he straight up said, “If rumors about the contents of the draft proposal are true, it would have been dead on arrival in the House anyway.” And he ain’t just flappin’ his gums about it either. He’s remindin’ everyone how the House passed the Secure the Border Act (HR 2) last year, and he’s not in the mood for no wishy-washy business.

In fact, Johnson’s so fired up about this whole thing that he’s callin’ out President Joe Biden and his administration, sayin’ they’ve made the border crisis worse than a bull in a china shop. And don’t get him started on Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Johnson’s team’s been makin’ moves to impeach that fella, and they ain’t pullin’ no punches.

Yessiree, the House Homeland Security Committee’s plannin’ to move forward with Articles of Impeachment, and Johnson’s not holdin’ back. He’s raisin’ a ruckus, claimin’ President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have been ignorin’ and underminin’ the immigration laws left and right. And he’s got the polls to back him up, too. RealClearPolling and the Wall Street Journal ain’t too kind to ol’ Biden on this immigration business, no siree.

But Johnson ain’t stoppin’ there. He’s also throwin’ his support behind Texas, like a good ol’ southern gentleman would. The U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, done said federal agents can cut that razor wire along the U.S.-Mexico border. But them Democrats are twistin’ things up, and the Biden administration’s talkin’ ’bout federalizin’ the national guard. Well, Texas Governor Greg Abbott ain’t takin’ kindly to that, no sir! And Johnson’s right there beside him, hootin’ and hollerin’, talkin’ ’bout how House Republicans are gonna stomp their boots and oppose any White House or Senate proposals that ‘d make illegal aliens feel welcome as a hog in mud.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any wilder, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) is addin’ his two cents on this rodeo, too. He’s callin’ out Biden’s policies and stirrin’ the pot, lettin’ folks know where he stands in this whole hoedown.

So there you have it, folks, the wild and woolly tale of the supplemental funding bill and all the ruckus it’s causin’ in the hallowed halls of Congress. It’s like a good ol’ fashioned showdown at the OK Corral, and these cowboys and cowgirls ain’t playin’ no games. Yeehaw!
