Several Democratic operatives are advocating for the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok, despite the Biden administration's lack of public stance on the matter. They view the platform as a potent tool to connect with the younger demographic, who predominantly use the app and lean towards left-wing ideology. As a result, TikTok has emerged as a crucial channel for Democrats to engage in political discussions with the youth.

Despite Democratic support for TikTok, Republicans have persistently urged for the app's prohibition, citing concerns that the platform is a tool for Chinese espionage. In March, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that China could exploit ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, to manipulate software on American devices.

A media program called American Bridge 21st Century has voiced its support for TikTok and deemed it a valuable "tool" that should not be banned. This nine-figure program sponsored several podcasters and influencers in 2022, with a focus on promoting President Joe Biden's economic plan to a young voter base.
“Right now, TikTok can be a useful tool, especially since Republicans are avoiding it for political reasons," Bradley Beychok, co-founder of American Bridge 21st Century, told the WSJ. "You wouldn't want to take such a tool off the shelf.”
According to an anonymous consultant quoted in the WSJ, Democrats have a significant edge on TikTok as Republican counterparts tend to steer clear of the platform because of perceived security vulnerabilities.
"Especially between many Gen Z voters, it is the most popular platform," the consultant told the WSJ. "If we want young people to vote, we need to have things they like and can do."
The Biden administration’s silence on the issue of banning TikTok speaks volumes about their true intentions. It’s clear that Democrats are using the Chinese-owned application to push their agenda and gain favor with younger voters. The fact that the Biden administration has hired a consulting firm with ties to the app and has employed numerous people connected to Biden who have worked with TikTok influencers only further proves this point.
It’s no surprise that Democrats are using TikTok as a tool to push their agenda and gain favor with younger voters. But what is concerning is that they are willing to put our national security at risk in order to do so. The FBI has already testified that China could use TikTok owner ByteDance to control software on American devices, yet Democrats continue to defend the app and push their agenda.
It’s time for Republicans to stand up and call out Democrats for their reckless disregard for our national security. We cannot allow Democrats to put our safety at risk in order to push their political agenda. It’s time for Republicans to take a stand and demand that the Biden administration take action on this issue and ban TikTok before it’s too late.
