The witch hunt against former President Donald Trump is being taken to extreme levels by the Democrats. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is not happy with former Manhattan prosecutor, Mark Pomerantz, who refused to answer any questions about the indictment of the former President at a Judiciary Committee hearing. Pomerantz invoked his right to remain silent and even called the hearing ‘political theater.’
Rep. Gaetz called him out for his unwillingness to assist in the investigation and filed a contempt resolution against Pomerantz. Gaetz believes Pomerantz failed to meet the requirements of his subpoena and harmed the legitimacy of the indictment against former President Trump.
It’s important to note that Pomerantz led the investigation against Trump in the past, and resigned from his position when Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg refused to charge the President. Recently he published a tell-all book about the investigation, which seems surprising given his apparent lack of interest in participating in a hearing regarding the same investigation.

It’s possible Pomerantz is counting on the Justice Department to ignore the contempt resolution because they are led by Democrats who may be sympathetic to his cause. The Judiciary Committee has serious suspicions that the indictment may be politically motivated, and it’s not just conservatives who believe so. The fact that other officials chose not to prosecute the former President for his alleged involvement in hush money payments that his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, made, only supports the idea that this indictment is nothing more than another political prosecution.
The Democrats know this, and that’s why they are obstructing the investigation at every turn. However, their efforts will only lead to an increase in support for the ex-President. Just look at Hillary Clinton, who was not charged even though she did the exact same thing. It’s time for the Democrats to stop wasting time and taxpayer money on political prosecutions.
