Harvard law scholar Alan Dershowitz slammed President Joe Biden's Islamophobia program. Dershowitz, famed for his rigor, termed the idea an insult to all Americans. He accused Biden of accusing Americans of being anti-Islam, anti-Muslim, and anti-Arab without evidence in an interview with Fox Business anchor Larry Kudlow. Dershowitz stated that college campuses do not have anti-Arab or Muslim attitudes and that the focus should be on rising anti-Semitism. He said that the Biden administration ignored previous college campus rallies that glorified Hamas, a dangerous Islamic terrorist outfit. Dershowitz's comments illuminate Biden's controversial effort and raise fundamental issues about its efficacy and purpose.
In addition to Dershowitz's critique, the piece names Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib and “The Squad,” her left-wing House colleagues. Soon after Israel initiated military operations in response to Hamas strikes, they demanded a truce. With 22 Republicans and Democrats agreeing to table a motion denouncing Tlaib, who has been accused of anti-Semitic remarks, she avoided censure. This adds to the dispute by highlighting Israel-Palestine political divides.
