Dershowitz, Whitaker Slam DOJ’s Anti-Trump Crusade: Unethical Tactics Exposed!

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz and former acting U.S. Attorney General Matthew Whitaker have come out to denounce the recent indictment against former President Trump and the Department of Justice’s tactics. Dershowitz, who wrote the book “Get Trump: The Threat to Civil Liberties, Due Process, and Our Constitutional Rule of Law,” claimed that the DOJ’s case is based on the unethical practice of finding fault with someone before finding evidence, a practice he claims violates the constitutional legal process. Furthermore, he questioned the validity of a prosecutor announcing that they will only investigate those of a certain political party. Whitaker also expressed concerns over the case, pointing out that the DOJ has been reversed by the Supreme Court before.

One notable piece of evidence that Trump will have to defend himself against is a recording of him speaking about a document that he did not classify, which Dershowitz called “damning.” However, the defense could argue that the document was allowed to be in Trump’s possession under the Presidential Records Act. Whitaker also pointed out that since the document was never recovered, it may be difficult to determine its actual contents.

Ultimately, this indictment is an example of the DOJ targeting Republicans for political reasons, which is a dangerous precedent to set. If this were done to Democrats, the public outcry would be deafening. The courts will have to decide whether this was a justifiable case. Nevertheless, one thing is clear – the DOJ should not use its power to further political ambitions.
