Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is standing firm in his decision to protect the state’s children from the dangerous and experimental gender reassignment surgeries that President Joe Biden is advocating for. In response to Biden’s remarks on The Daily Show, DeSantis’ political team released a video on the DeSantis War Room Twitter account that showed the devastating effects of gender reassignment surgeries. The video juxtaposed Biden’s interview with Kal Penn and several photos of skin grafts for genital creation and top surgeries.

The Florida Board of Medicine voted in October to ban puberty blockers and gender reassignment surgeries for minors, and the ban will go into effect this Thursday. The board heard testimony from several notable detransitioners, including Chloe Cole, who said she transitioned after being exposed to “far-Left ideology.”

DeSantis himself has spoken out against Biden’s comments, saying, “It is not ‘sinful’ to prohibit the mutilation of minors. It is not acceptable for the federal government to mandate that procedures like sex change operations be allowed for kids.” His spokeswoman Lindsey Curnutte added, “These are examples of surgeries that he’s [Biden] fine with being performed on children.”
It is clear that President Biden is willing to put the lives of children in danger in order to push his far-Left agenda. His call for federal legislation that would allow minors to undergo gender transitions in every state is a dangerous and irresponsible move. Not only does it put children at risk of physical harm, but it also puts them at risk of being exposed to radical ideologies that can have a lasting impact on their mental health.
Governor DeSantis is right to take a stand against this dangerous policy and protect the children of Florida from the potential harms of gender reassignment surgeries. His decision is a testament to his commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of all Floridians, and it is a reminder that conservative values are still alive and well in the Sunshine State.
