The liberal media once again has its sights set on President Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis. This time, they are attacking a new Florida law that prohibits minors from attending ‘furry’ conventions where attendees dress as animals. Rolling Stone is up in arms about this new law and claims that the furry conventions are harmless and should be allowed for kids. However, any rational person would agree that children should not be exposed to sexual activities, which are known to happen at these conventions.
Comic book conventions may be more tolerable, but furry conventions are not mainstream and are not remotely close to normal. It is only right to keep children away from any gatherings where sexual activities could occur. Governor DeSantis is doing the right thing by protecting our children and making sure such events do not go on in front of minors.
RedState looked into the issue and found that the law is clear. An “adult performance” is defined in the statute as a “presentation that depicts or simulates nudity, sexual conduct, or specific sexual activities.” If furry conventions are so family-friendly, why did the organizers feel the need to ban kids? The reality is that furry conventions are inherently filled with sexualized content, and it is impossible to avoid this type of behavior.
Rolling Stone tries to excuse the sexual content at furry conventions by claiming that they only happen later in the evening and that adult vendors are cordoned off. However, this is simply not true. If there were no sexual displays, the event could be family-friendly, and there would be no need to ban kids. But unfortunately, there are sexual activities happening at these events, and children should not be exposed to them.
In conclusion, it is essential to keep our children safe from sexual activities and other aberrant behaviors. We should not allow them to attend furry conventions where these types of activities take place. Governor DeSantis is doing the right thing by protecting our children and making sure such events are banned in front of minors. Let us hope that the liberal media will start to see the importance of protecting our most precious commodity – our children – rather than promoting perverse behavior.
