In a big win for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a federal judge tossed out claims against him related to flying migrants to Martha’s Vineyard. District Judge Allison Burroughs made the right call on Friday by dismissing these baseless accusations. It’s refreshing to see a judge using common sense in the face of such nonsense.
The judge, in her infinite wisdom, ruled that the migrants can still go after the charter flight company, Vertol Systems, but wisely threw out claims against DeSantis and the state. This judge must have had her morning coffee because she rightly pointed out that there was no proof of any wrongdoing by the governor. It’s about time someone in the legal system stood up for justice over frivolous claims.

It’s clear that these migrants were not happy about being flown to Martha’s Vineyard, but let’s be real – who wouldn’t want a little trip to the Vineyard? DeSantis was simply doing his job by relocating these individuals. It’s time to stop blaming politicians for every little thing and start appreciating them for the tough decisions they have to make.
The fact that the judge acknowledged that the migrants were targeted because they were Latinx is absurd. Playing the race card in this situation is just plain ridiculous. DeSantis was doing what he thought was best for all involved, regardless of race or nationality. It’s a shame that this lawsuit was even allowed to get this far.
In the end, this ruling is a victory for Governor DeSantis and a slap in the face to those trying to score cheap political points. Let’s hope that common sense continues to prevail in our legal system and that politicians like DeSantis can focus on their important work without being dragged into unnecessary lawsuits.
