The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) is leveling an outrageous and unprecedented attack on the January 6th defendants and prisoners. According to the latest shocking report from the Associated Press, prosecutors are now targeting donations made to legal defense funds set up on behalf of those who have been imprisoned in connection with the so-called “insurrection.”
How is this even legal? 🤨https://t.co/eF3XHaBoyk

Conservatives have rightly dubbed these patriots as “political prisoners” due to the excessive and unwarranted sentences handed down to them by the DOJ. By contrast, left-wing rioters from violent protests in 2020 received little to no punishment for their actions. Shockingly, 95% of Black Lives Matter rioters were exonerated and had all charges dropped.
Many January 6 defendants have used online fundraisers to collect money for their legal defenses.
The government is seeking fines at sentencing that confiscate this money when the cases conclude. https://t.co/2GPy0GwZ8g

The DOJ is now seeking to financially ruin January 6th defendants and their families by “clawing back” any support or donations. The DOJ believes that these donations have the potential to serve as a multiple-faceted form of punishment for the alleged crime.
One Texas resident, Daniel Goodwyn, is being targeted by the DOJ for appearing on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight and offering a platform for individuals to donate to the legal defense funds of political prisoners. The DOJ now wants Goodwyn to hand over a staggering $25,000 because they believe that he has “profited” off the “attack that shook the foundations” of our republic.
Among those being singled out include Markus Maly, a Virginian who has been sentenced to prison, and prosecutors are demanding a $16,000 fine to negate any donations made to his legal defense fund. According to court documents, the prosecutor stated that Maly “should not be able to use his own notoriety gained in the commission of his crimes to ‘capitalize’ on his participation in the Capitol breach in this way.”
This year alone, prosecutors have sought over $390,000 in fines from at least 21 January 6th defendants with amounts ranging from $450 to $71,000. Insanely and unjustly, over the previous two years, defendants were ordered to pay more than $240,000 in fines collectively.
This is a gross and unprecedented abuse of power by the DOJ and only serves to show how far down the rabbit hole of political persecution the Biden administration has gone. Conservative Americans must remain vigilant in the face of such injustice and continue to call out the left-wing agenda for what it is–anti-American and anti-Christian.
