DOJ’s Vendetta: Wants More Prison Time for Proud Boys!

Oh boy, folks, here we go again! The Biden Department of Justice, often dubbed the fun police, just can't resist meddling in affairs that aren't really their business. This time, they're making a move to extend the prison sentences for the Proud Boys who were initially handed terms ranging from 10 to 22 years in the aftermath of the January 6 events. Can you believe it?

Now, let's rewind a bit. Initially, these hard-nosed prosecutors were gunning for these individuals, asking for 33 years for Enrique Tarrio, 30 for Zachary Rehl, 27 for Ethan Nordean, 33 for Joseph Biggs, and 20 for Dominic Pezzolo. Fortunately, a bit of common sense prevailed when the judge issued somewhat less outrageous sentences. Tarrio got 22 years, Rehl got 15, Nordean got 18, Biggs got 17, and Pezzola got 10. Still hefty, no doubt.

But evidently, the Department of Justice just can't leave well enough alone. It's like they have an itch they can't help but scratch. They're now filing appeals against these sentences, acting like sore losers. I mean, do they genuinely consider these individuals to be on par with hardened terrorists? Give me a break! While these folks might have made some regrettable choices, they're hardly public enemy number one. Surely, the DOJ has more pressing matters to attend to, like securing the border or tackling rising crime rates? Just a thought.

Of course, the defense attorneys aren't too thrilled about the DOJ's latest antics. Norm Pattis, the lawyer for Biggs and Rehl, has labeled this move "ridiculous," and it's hard to disagree. Pattis even went so far as to suggest that Merrick Garland, the head of the DOJ, should find a new hobby. Ouch! But let's face it, these appeals are nothing but a waste of time and taxpayer dollars. Isn't it about time the Biden administration started putting the American people first instead of engaging in political theatrics?

And here's the kicker – the DOJ is referring to the Proud Boys as "criminals" who sought to "overturn the results of a democratic election." Come on now, DOJ, get a grip! These individuals were passionate about their beliefs, but to imply they were masterminds plotting to overthrow the government is just absurd. It's like they've watched one too many spy movies or something. Let's stick to the facts, shall we?

But the circus doesn't end there, my friends. The Department of Justice is also appealing the sentencing of Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, who received an 18-year prison term. It appears they just can't resist throwing the book at anyone remotely connected to the January 6 protest. Are they trying to make an example out of these individuals? Well, good luck with that because all they're accomplishing is demonstrating to the American people that their priorities are more about settling political scores than seeking real justice.

In the grand scheme of things, it's painfully evident that the Department of Justice is using these appeals as a means to punish and silence anyone who doesn't align with the Biden administration's views. It's just another instance of their overreach and misuse of power. America deserves better. We deserve a DOJ that focuses on genuine criminals and upholds the principles of justice, not one that engages in partisan games and targets political adversaries. Let's hope this nonsense comes to a halt soon.
