Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas is speaking up about the lack of support his city has received from the Biden administration in dealing with the surge of illegal immigrants at the border. In an interview with CNN, Salinas expressed his frustration with the administration’s “radio silence” on the issue. He also placed the blame on President Biden for the border crisis and called for stricter enforcement of immigration laws.

According to Salinas, he has not received any communication from the Biden administration regarding the situation at the border. He expressed his disappointment in not hearing from President Biden or Vice President Harris, and criticized their lack of a plan of action. Salinas believes that the city of Eagle Pass has been abandoned and is in desperate need of federal assistance.
As the border crisis continues to escalate, Eagle Pass is facing new challenges with an even greater influx of illegal immigrants. The city is experiencing capacity issues and Mayor Salinas is concerned that if the rate of crossings continues, there could be a repeat of the international bridge crisis that occurred in 2021 with Haitian immigrants.
