Republican megadonors are starting to panic as former President Donald Trump gains a strong lead in the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race. Not only are they worried about Trump’s legal troubles, but they also fear the Deep State revenge that he has promised. With their Plan B candidate, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, not performing as well as expected, these big-money donors are now looking for alternatives. They have set their sights on Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.

According to GOP sources, these donors are desperate for a viable alternative to Trump. They are concerned about the consequences if Trump becomes the Republican nominee. However, they also recognize that the party’s base remains loyal to Trump despite the ongoing indictments.
Outside of X (formerly Twitter) the majority of the so called GOP candidates need name tags to be identified in America. Trump has a 60 point lead on what at one point was his only identifiable contender (until America got to know him, and his campaign aides and donors led him…

The grassroots will decide who our nominee is – not Anti-America First Globalist donors .
The donors have one vote each. They need not expect the grassroots to support their chosen candidate in the general if Trump is not the GOP nominee.#OnlyTrump2024 #NeverDeSantis…

Glenn Youngkin has emerged as a potential contender, receiving support from billionaires like Ronald Lauder and Thomas Peterffy. Even Rupert Murdoch, head of Fox News and the New York Post, is secretly a fan. Youngkin gained attention for his successful campaign in Virginia, where he tapped into the frustrations of parents who were unhappy with what their children were being taught in virtual classrooms. However, Youngkin has repeatedly stated that his focus is on Virginia and the upcoming statehouse elections.
Brian Kemp, on the other hand, would face significant challenges if he were to enter the race. His rejection of claims of voter fraud in Georgia during the 2020 election has angered many Republican voters. Former Trump national security advisor John Bolton has met with Kemp and encouraged him to run, but Kemp may also have his sights set on running for Georgia Democrat Senator Jon Ossoff’s seat in 2026.
Despite their search for an alternative, Republican mega-donors are facing mounting frustration as Trump’s popularity continues to grow. The latest polls show Trump leading by a whopping 40.9 points. Nevertheless, if these donors are looking for other candidates to support, they could consider Chris Christie and Asa Hutchinson.
