New York, the poster child for liberal policies, has hit a new low as it takes the top spot for residents fleeing to greener pastures. According to the US Census Bureau, nearly 102,000 people have waved goodbye to the Empire State, making it the number one state for population loss. This mass exodus has led to a decline in New York’s population from 19.67 million to 19.57 million in just 12 months, marking the largest decline in the country. It seems that the progressive paradise of New York is losing its charm, and residents are abandoning ship at an alarming rate.
But New York isn’t the only state facing this crisis. Democrat-led California is also witnessing a significant drop in population, losing almost 75,500 residents. It’s clear that people are fleeing from the liberal stronghold of the West Coast as well. Meanwhile, Republican-led states like Texas and Florida are experiencing a surge in new residents, with Texas adding 473,453 people and Florida welcoming 365,205 new arrivals. It’s no surprise that people are flocking to states that prioritize freedom and prosperity over oppressive government control.
