The former top tax watchdog at the U.S. Justice Department, Eileen O’Connor, has exposed the shady dealings surrounding Hunter Biden’s plea deal for tax crimes. O’Connor revealed that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland’s failure to appoint a special counsel allowed Hunter Biden to escape severe charges for his wrongdoings. It seems like the Biden family is above the law once again.

According to O’Connor, the prosecution team knew from as early as June 2021 that without a special counsel, Hunter Biden would not be held accountable for his tax crimes. It turns out that crimes must be prosecuted in the district where they occur, and since the violations spanned different districts, Hunter conveniently avoided facing appropriate charges. This is nothing short of a political favor bestowed upon the first son.

It is ludicrous that Hunter Biden received such lenient treatment for his tax fraud, while ordinary citizens face severe consequences for similar offenses. The plea deal he struck allows him to escape jail time, a privilege that no one else in the District of Columbia has ever received for similar crimes. Once again, the elites are playing by a different set of rules.
President Joe Biden, in a desperate attempt to show solidarity with his troubled son, invited him to a state dinner. However, it was noticeable that Attorney General Garland carefully avoided any interaction with Hunter, as if trying to distance himself from the tainted family. It is astonishing to witness the lengths to which President Biden will go to protect his son’s reputation. The real question is, was he aware of or complicit in Hunter’s shady business activities that led to these tax crimes?
House Republicans are rightly continuing their investigations into President Biden’s involvement in his son’s illicit affairs. The American people deserve to know if the President had any knowledge or turned a blind eye to Hunter’s questionable dealings. It is disheartening to see yet another instance of politicians taking advantage of their positions to shield their family members from the consequences of their actions.
This whole ordeal only solidifies the fact that there is a double standard in our justice system. The elites can manipulate the system to their advantage, while everyday Americans face harsh penalties for similar offenses. It is imperative that we hold our elected officials accountable and demand equality under the law. The Biden family should not be exempt from the same scrutiny and punishment as any other citizen.
