In a recent expose, it was revealed just how much the teachers’ unions, led by the likes of Randi Weingarten, have utterly failed our children during the COVID-19 pandemic. The New York Times, of all places, had to acknowledge the disastrous impact of school closures on our education system. It’s about time someone woke up to this reality; better late than never, right?

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) laid bare the shocking truth: math and reading scores among our young students took a nosedive. These poor kids were stuck in front of computer screens for months on end, deprived of the social interaction and proper schooling they so desperately needed. And let’s not forget the insanity of making them wear masks and sit behind plexiglass desks. Talk about a recipe for disaster!
The damage done to our children’s education is staggering. Reading and math scores plummeting among fourth and eighth graders is a dire consequence of the mishandling of the pandemic by the teachers’ unions and their puppets in blue cities like Los Angeles and New York City. Meanwhile, in red states where conservative leadership prevailed, schools reopened sooner and saw less of a decline in academic performance. Coincidence? I think not.
It’s a travesty that no one has been held accountable for this mess. Randi Weingarten’s cozy relationship with CDC officials, rewriting school reopening guidelines to keep classrooms closed longer, is just the tip of the iceberg. These teachers’ unions put their political agendas above the well-being of our children, and it’s our students who are paying the ultimate price.
It’s crystal clear where the blame lies. The left-wing teachers’ unions and their cronies in power have failed our children miserably. It’s time for real accountability and for parents to take back control of their children’s education. We can’t let this slide; the future of our country depends on it.
