In a startling new revelation, renowned author and former Justice reporter Jerry Dunleavy has exposed the FBI's alleged malfeasance in its investigation of House Representative Eric Swalwell and his connections to Fang Fang, a woman with ties to Chinese intelligence. This disturbing report raises grave concerns regarding the politicization of the Department of Justice and its biased treatment of elected Democratic officials.

Dunleavy's exhaustive investigation reveals the extensive involvement of Fang Fang and Russell Lowe in the espionage operations of the Chinese Ministry of State Security. Both Fang and Lowe had close connections to prominent Democrats, with Fang having a personal relationship with Representative Eric Swalwell and Lowe serving as a key member of Senator Dianne Feinstein's staff. They were photographed together at China-related events and were known to have contact with Chinese intelligence agents.
The FBI's management of these cases is extremely dubious. According to sources within the FBI cited by Dunleavy, the investigations into Fang and Lowe were prematurely terminated when the bureau decided to brief Swalwell and Feinstein instead of continuing the investigations. This raises suspicions of a cover-up and blatant favoritism towards Democratic officials.
In addition, Dunleavy discloses that the FBI possessed evidence suggesting an intimate relationship between Swalwell and Fang. Under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), the bureau monitored Fang and intercepted many of her actions and communications. The FBI believed that Fang was not herself an intelligence officer, but rather a determined agent of the Chinese intelligence services. In addition, an investigation into potential unlawful foreign donations, quid pro quo, and bribery involving Swalwell was launched.
Since at least 2008, the FBI had been investigating Lowe in the case of Feinstein and Lowe. Lowe, a member of Feinstein's staff, met with Chinese intelligence operatives in San Francisco to discuss a variety of topics, including U.S.-China relations and Feinstein's views. The FBI downgraded its investigation of Lowe from counterintelligence to counterespionage and was working to acquire a FISA against him. However, the FBI abruptly withdrew the FISA and briefed Senator Feinstein on the defense, effectively ending the investigation.
Dunleavy's analysis focuses on the conspicuous instances of politicization within the FBI as well as the FBI's difficulties in dealing with Chinese intelligence operations aimed at U.S. politicians. He argues that the FBI used a briefing to then-candidate Trump to advance its investigations into his campaign, while briefings to Swalwell and Feinstein effectively terminated investigations into Fang and Lowe.
This latest disclosure adds to the growing list of politicized probes conducted by the Biden administration. While former President Trump and his associates face multiple targeted investigations, including a criminal investigation by partisan district attorney Alvin Bragg, the Justice Department appears to be pursuing a "sweetheart" plea bargain for President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, who is facing severe allegations. The treatment of the Bidens by the FBI and the glaring contrast in its approach to Trump and his allies further illustrate the biased and unjust nature of the Democratic Party's current "no justice" system.
