Feinstein Back in Hospital – Is She Still Fit for Office?

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) had a little fall at her San Francisco home that landed her in the hospital. Don’t worry, though, it was just a minor fall and no damage was done. At least that’s what her office says. But let’s not forget, this isn’t the first time Feinstein’s health has gotten in the way of her job. She’s had a number of health issues that have kept her out of the Senate for months at a time.

Feinstein’s office claims that all her scans came back clear and she’s already back at home. But let’s be real, how many times can she keep having these little falls before something more serious happens? And speaking of serious, let’s not forget about her recent bout with shingles that left her with partial facial paralysis. It’s clear that her mental and physical faculties are declining, yet she refuses to step down from her role as senator.

But it’s not just her health that’s the issue here. Feinstein’s prolonged absence from the Senate has caused major headaches for the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Judicial nominations have been held up because she’s not there to do her job. Many Democrats are calling for her resignation, but she’s determined to stay in office until her term ends in 2025. It’s time for her to go, but unfortunately, the voters in California decided to reelect her.

It’s funny how the Democrats are so quick to criticize the Republicans for having aging leaders like Mitch McConnell, but they turn a blind eye to Feinstein’s own age and health issues. And let’s not forget about Joe Biden, another senior citizen who can’t seem to handle the responsibilities of being president. Maybe it’s time for a new generation of leaders to step up and take the reins.
