Foot Doctors to Kick Pain with Medical Marijuana?

Big news in Pennsylvania! The Medical Marijuana Advisory Board has given a big thumbs up to adding podiatrists to the list of medical providers who can prescribe medical marijuana. Yep, you read that right – podiatrists! Those foot doctors will now have the power to dish out the ganja to their patients suffering from neuropathy and intractable pain. It’s about time our poor podiatry patients got some herbal relief!

Now, before you start picturing a podiatrist lighting up a joint while examining your bunions, let’s remember that this recommendation still needs to get the stamp of approval from the Legislature. So it’s not a done deal just yet. But hey, if the Legislature gives it the green light, it’s going to be a major win for our feet.

And can we talk about the success of Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana program for a second? Since 2018, it has served over 922,000 patients and caregivers, and it’s brought in a whopping $7.4 billion in sales. That’s a whole lot of green, if you ask me! It just goes to show that when we embrace alternative treatments like medical marijuana, we can help people and stimulate the economy at the same time.

So come on, Pennsylvania Legislature! Let’s give those podiatrists the power to prescribe the good stuff. Our feet will thank you!
