Fox News, the beloved conservative news outlet, found themselves in a sticky situation when they had to retract a hit piece they wrote about former President Donald Trump. Oopsie daisy! It turns out they “inaccurately attributed” an anti-Trump quote to none other than former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price. Talk about a case of mistaken identity!

The original article had a headline that screamed, “Former Trump Cabinet member tells him to ‘kiss’ his ‘butt.'” Well, well, well, isn’t that a juicy headline? But hold on to your hats, folks, because things took a twist. In the article, Price supposedly told Fox News Digital that he would never support Trump’s 2024 presidential bid. He even added a spicy remark, saying, “He can kiss my big medical butt.” Ouch!

(3) this is not Price's quote.

However, it seems like Fox News might have been bamboozled. According to Dan Diamond, the person who broke the story, Price denies ever communicating with Fox News about this matter. In a tweet, Diamond revealed that Price never heard from Fox News, never wrote an email to them, and most shockingly, the quote in question was not Price’s. Oh boy, someone dropped the ball on fact-checking!
To make matters worse, Fox News had to eat some humble pie and issue a correction. Clean-up on aisle three! The web page’s headline was changed to a more modest “Correction,” accompanied by an editor’s note confessing their grave mistake. The note stated, “This article inaccurately attributed a quote to former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price and has been retracted.” Bravo to Fox News for owning up to their blunder!
Now, let’s be honest here. We all make mistakes, even the prestigious news outlets like Fox News. But this little fiasco does make us raise an eyebrow, doesn’t it? It’s a classic example of the mainstream media’s never-ending quest to undermine President Trump. They’ll go to great lengths, even falsely attributing quotes, just to make him look bad. It’s like they have a grudge or something!
