Hollywood elitist George Clooney is at it again, trying to call the shots from his ivory tower. The A-list actor, who just co-hosted a fundraising gala that raked in a staggering $30 million for President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign, now dares to suggest that the President step aside and not run for a second term. This comes on the heels of the headliner evening with his co-hosts, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, all of whom showered Biden in praise just a few weeks ago.
Clooney penned a piece for The New York Times, essentially saying that while Biden was a great senator and vice president early in his presidency, Father Time has caught up with him—and Democrats can’t cling to the past. He pointed to Biden’s decline since 2020 and admitted that the man at the recent fundraiser wasn’t the Joe Biden of yesteryear. Democrats, listen up! Biden’s shaky performance isn’t just Hollywood gossip. At the recent star-studded fundraiser, he famously appeared to freeze and had to be led offstage by Obama. Complete disaster. It’s reminiscent of his incoherent response when George Stephanopoulos asked him about the June 27th debate against Donald Trump. Biden could barely recall whether he even watched the debate afterwards. What happened, Joe? Prepared in “explicit detail” for the debate? More like explicitly embarrassing.
Now, Clooney is predicting a Democrat doomsday if Biden sticks it out. According to the actor, a Biden re-election would lead to a landslide loss in November, not just for the White House but also for the Senate and the House. He claims every Democrat senator, representative, and governor he’s spoken with backs this sentiment—though they’re probably too scared to say it publicly. So, out come the knives in the Democratic Party’s own winter of discontent.
As if things couldn’t get less hopeful for lefties, Clooney tossed out a few names for the Democratic replacement parade: Kamala Harris, Gretchen Whitmer, Gavin Newsom, and others. Who’s he kidding? These folks are as uninspiring as they come, each one ready to sink the ship faster than the Titanic. But Hollywood logic goes, if you swap the captain late enough, the passengers—aka voters—won’t realize the vessel’s already heading straight for an iceberg.
Clooney has the chutzpah to say Biden “saved democracy in 2020” and needs to do it again by stepping aside this time. What he really means is to step aside so Democrats can scramble for another puppet while hoping Republicans don’t have enough time to unmask them. One can only imagine the political circus Democrats are gearing up for at their convention next month in Chicago. Popcorn, anyone?
