Rep. George Santos (R-NY) is a force to be reckoned with. Despite the media’s attempts to smear him for his past life as a drag queen and his claims of Jewish heritage, Santos is here to stay. The GOP cannot afford to lose another seat, and no crime has been committed. This is in stark contrast to Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), who lied about his tours of duty in Vietnam that never happened. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is treading water with Santos, and it looks like he’ll be around until the next election.

Santos is making the most of his time in office, even trolling the media when he cancelled an exclusive sit-down with CNN anchor Don Lemon over Lemon’s sexist remarks about former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley. Santos’ office made it clear that sexism will not be tolerated in the George Santos office.

Santos’ brazen attitude is a sign that he feels safe in his seat. He’s noted that he had already gotten away with his exaggerations during the 2020 campaign, so he didn’t think anyone would cross-reference them. This attitude is a testament to his confidence, and it’s clear that he’s enjoying his time on the Hill.
It’s refreshing to see a Republican who stands up for what he believes in and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. While some may not agree with Rep. George Santos’ views, it’s important to remember that he was elected by the people of New York and deserves respect for that. It’s also important to remember that no matter how much the media tries to smear him, Rep. George Santos is here to stay.
