In a recent spicy development in the political arena, Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is stirring the pot by pushing for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) to be former President Donald Trump’s running mate if he takes the helm as the 2024 Republican presidential nominee. Gingrich, a reliable pal of Trump, has made it clear that Stefanik is at the tippity top of the list for Vice President in the event of a Trump triumph.

The outspoken Gingrich didn’t hold back, declaring his admiration for Stefanik and emphasizing that she deserves a prime spot on Trump’s VP shortlist. After Stefanik’s impressive performance on the popular Sunday show, Meet the Press, where she expressed her enthusiasm at the thought of teaming up with Trump, it seems that Gingrich’s endorsement has given her quite the boost.
After commemorating former President Richard Nixon at the Richard Nixon Foundation on what would have been his 111th birthday, Gingrich took the opportunity to sing Stefanik’s praises. “I’m a very big fan of Elise’s. Certainly, if there is a short list for vice president, she should be on it,” Gingrich proclaimed, making it clear that he’s firmly in Stefanik’s corner.
Gingrich, not one to shy away from sharing his two cents, also didn’t hold back on Trump’s potential candidacy. He pointed out that while Trump might rub some voters the wrong way, he’s still the best shot at putting the brakes on President Joe Biden’s agenda. “Trump is the best possible hope to try and turn the country around,” Gingrich asserted, cementing his unwavering support for the former commander-in-chief.
