Recent reports on the rise of violent crimes involving firearms have caught the attention of concerned citizens across the nation. With a surge in gun-related incidents and tragic mass shootings making headlines, the gun control advocacy groups have been quick to exploit these tragedies to push for stricter firearm regulations.

The anti-gunner lobby, led by lawmakers looking to advance their own agenda, has resorted to using federal agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to produce biased studies aimed at promoting further restrictions on gun ownership.
Critics, such as the Gun Owners of America (GOA), have pointed out the misuse of taxpayer funds to fund these one-sided studies, which blatantly ignore the Dickey Amendment established in 1994 to prevent federal resources from being used to promote political agendas, such as gun control.
Representative Mary Miller-Meeks (R-IA) has taken a stand against this misuse of federal agencies by introducing an amendment prohibiting the CDC from conducting any research related to firearm injury and mortality prevention, rightly pointing out the skewed narrative being propagated by the anti-gunners.
While gun violence is undoubtedly a serious issue that warrants attention, the left’s singular focus on pushing for stricter gun laws fails to address the root causes of these crimes. By manipulating research to fit their narrative, these groups aim not to reduce violence but to disarm law-abiding citizens.
It’s imperative to consider all data available, including studies that reveal the significant number of defensive gun uses by lawful firearm owners every year. These acts of self-defense often go unreported and underscore the importance of protecting the Second Amendment rights of Americans.
Rather than engaging in meaningful dialogue to address the complexities of gun violence, the left’s relentless pursuit of disarmament only serves to undermine the fundamental freedoms enshrined in the Constitution. It’s time to shift the focus from exploiting tragedies for political gain to finding real solutions that prioritize safety and individual liberty.
