On Thursday, the Fox Business Network show “Kudlow” featured Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, who had some fiery things to say about Harvard University and its president, Claudine Gay. Dershowitz claimed that Harvard is giving special treatment to President Gay when it comes to plagiarism. He believes that Harvard is applying a double standard, with one set of rules for those who are considered “DEI-protected” (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and another tougher set for everyone else.
Dershowitz: Harvard Is Breaking Its Own Rules to Protect Gay for DEI https://t.co/Xt2LnRwJTR

Dershowitz shared a story about a dyslexic student who missed out on medical school because his secretary forgot to include footnotes in his paper, leading to disciplinary action. Dershowitz argued that the university had a strict “no honest mistake” policy when it came to plagiarism. However, according to Dershowitz, when it comes to President Gay, Harvard is turning a blind eye to plagiarism. He asserts that this sends a clear message that there are two sets of rules at Harvard – one for the DEI-protected individuals and another for those outside of that category.
Dershowitz did not hold back in his criticism of Harvard’s DEI board, claiming that they are unwilling to acknowledge any wrongdoing in the handling of President Gay’s plagiarism issue. He went on to suggest that if more damning information surfaces, President Gay may be forced to resign from her position.
Dershowitz’s statements shed light on what some view as unfair treatment within Harvard University, invoking outrage at what appears to be favoritism based on DEI status. The professor’s remarks are sure to fuel further discussion and debate on the issue.
