Breaking news from the conservative trenches! Senator Josh Hawley, affectionately known as the Hulk of the Heartland, is once again giving the old one-two punch to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. This time it’s over McConnell’s attempt to fast-track the nominations of two of his skirt- and-suspenders-wearing cronies.
Hawley is putting the kibosh on McConnell’s plans to push Andrew Ferguson to lead the Federal Trade Commission and Todd Inman to a top spot with the National Transportation Safety Board. Both of these characters have ties to McConnell, making it look like the establishment is trying to sneak their buddies into important positions without anyone noticing.
Now, the Missouri maverick isn’t one to mince words. He straight-up said he’s got some “big time concerns” about McConnell’s transportation and safety policies and his cozy relationship with Big Tech. Hawley wants to be sure that Ferguson and Inman aren’t just McConnell puppets, so he’s grilling them with tough questions before they get the green light.
