In a bold move, Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) has pardoned Scott Smith, the Loudoun County father who protested against the sexual assault of his daughter and the subsequent cover-up by the school. Youngkin, speaking on Fox News, stated that he righted a wrong by pardoning Smith, who had been convicted of disorderly conduct in August 2021. The father was charged after he expressed his outrage at a school board meeting that mishandled the investigation into his daughter’s attack.

Youngkin made it clear that Smith should have never faced prosecution for defending his daughter. He also accused the school district of covering up the assault without taking any action. In the incident, Smith’s daughter was sexually assaulted in a restroom at Stone Bridge High School by a biological male who identified as female. The assailant had reportedly been wearing a skirt. Youngkin commended Smith’s actions, asserting that any parent in the same situation would have done the exact same thing. He labeled the situation a “gross miscarriage of justice” and expressed his commitment to rectifying such injustices.
Smith, who was initially convicted of two criminal charges following the incident, was grateful for Governor Youngkin’s actions. In a statement, he applauded the Governor’s dedication to uncovering the truth surrounding his family’s situation and the events in Loudoun County. Youngkin has been an outspoken critic of what he calls the Left’s transgender propaganda, vowing to take strong measures against Virginia public schools that fail to inform parents regarding any issues of gender confusion expressed by their children at school.
Governor Youngkin’s decision to pardon Scott Smith is a refreshing departure from the trend of prioritizing political correctness and silencing dissent. It is about time that someone is standing up for the rights of parents and children instead of bowing down to radical ideologies.
