Hillary Clinton revisits 2016 loss at DNC attacks Trump supporters and praises Harris

Hillary Clinton, the two-time presidential candidate who somehow still believes she deserves another shot at the White House, has clearly not gotten over that rather embarrassing defeat back in 2016. Instead of charting a new course or taking responsibility for her shortcomings, Clinton has chosen the all-too-familiar path of wallowing in the past. During her remarks at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, she dug into that well-worn topic: her loss to Donald Trump.

Claiming that nearly 66 million Americans voted for “a future where there are no ceilings on our dreams,” Clinton seemed to forget that those very dreams were dashed when the voters favored Trump. But no matter; in Clinton’s world, it’s always someone else’s fault. She also took the opportunity to sing the praises of Vice President Kamala Harris, suggesting that this administration is the one that truly understands the American people, unlike that mean old Trump, who, according to Clinton, is just a big ol’ liar mocking Harris’s laugh.

As this political drama unfolded, one has to wonder if the Democratic Party has an exclusive backstage pass to the “Hillary Clinton Reflection Show.” The show seems to operate on a loop of her 2016 election woes, mixed with a sprinkle of misplaced confidence. Watching Clinton reminisce about the days when she was supposedly a viable candidate is almost tragic—if it weren’t so laughable. The woman has had six years to figure out a fresh narrative, but she decided to recycle the same old grievances instead.

In what can only be described as a late-night Twitter rant that would make even a teenager proud, Clinton recently labeled Trump as a “fascist.” Because, of course, calling your opponent names works marvelously in political discourse. Clinton patriotic duty calls on Americans to vote for Harris, aiming to strike fear into the hearts of her followers by claiming that all warning lights for democracy are “flashing red,” as if the sky is about to fall. Apparently, the countdown to Armageddon has started, and it all revolves around the former president’s “blatantly fascist” rhetoric.

Clinton’s comments come in the wake of Trump responding to violent crime perpetrated by illegal aliens, which seems lost on her and her party as they cling to narrative-building against the former president. Rather than tackling the serious issues facing communities, such as the rampant crime committed by gangs like the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua in Colorado, Clinton sticks to the playbook—attack Trump, deflect attention, and don’t forget to rally the base with scare tactics.

For a supposedly seasoned politician, Clinton appears to miss the mark time and again. With the 2024 election approaching, her desperate cries for relevance and significance only serve to bolster Trump’s narrative and confirm to many that the Clinton era feels more like a trip down a rabbit hole of political absurdity.
