Hunter Biden Dodges Jail, Kodak Black Serves Time: America’s Double Standard Exposed

Yesterday, an announcement by the Department of Justice revealed that Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, will not face imprisonment despite confessing to providing false information on a firearm background check form during his struggle with crack addiction. This development has sparked discontent among certain individuals, including Bradford Cohen, the attorney representing rapper Kodak Black.

Cohen emphasized the striking similarity between Black's offense and Hunter Biden's, yet Black received a 46-month federal prison sentence. The rapper had pleaded guilty to weapons charges following his arrest prior to his performance at the Miami Rolling Loud festival in May. Moreover, he was accused of falsifying information on federal forms in order to purchase three firearms from a Miami gun shop, one of which was discovered at the scene of a shooting in Florida.

According to Rolling Stone, Black's legal team requested a sentence of 37 to 44 months or less, while the prosecution sought a range of 46 to 57 months. The maximum sentence he could have faced was 10 years behind bars. The apparent disparity in treatment between Hunter Biden and Kodak Black raises concerns about double standards.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation also criticized the outcome, highlighting the severe consequences that licensed firearm retailers have faced for far less serious paperwork errors compared to buying a firearm while addicted to crack. The NSSF accused the Biden administration of hypocrisy, asserting that their commitment to reducing gun violence is merely a facade aimed at scoring political points rather than addressing the issue earnestly.

This announcement coincided with President Biden's recent appearance in Hartford, where he called for gun control. It appears that the administration is more focused on advancing its own agenda than holding its own family members accountable for illegal activities.

It is evident that two tiers of justice exist in America today: one for the privileged and another for the rest of society. While Hunter Biden escapes consequences, ordinary citizens are being punished for identical offenses. This state of affairs is unacceptable, and it is crucial for the Biden administration to be held responsible for their actions.
