Hunter Biden is once again making headlines, this time for attempting to wiggle out of a gun-related case in Delaware. The son of President Joe Biden is asking a judge to toss out the charges against him, claiming his prosecution is unconstitutional and the special counsel leading the investigation was unlawfully appointed. Biden’s defense team is pulling out all the stops, arguing that the charges against him are baseless, and the entire case is just a politically motivated attack orchestrated by the Republicans.

First, Biden’s lawyers are challenging the legitimacy of David Weiss, the special counsel leading the investigation. They claim that Weiss was unlawfully appointed and is not qualified to serve in this role. According to them, the Department of Justice’s policy prohibits someone like Weiss, who was the U.S. attorney in Delaware at the time, from taking on the special counsel position. Additionally, they argue that there are no specific funds allocated for Weiss’s role, further questioning the validity of his authority.
Furthermore, Biden’s defense team is invoking the Supreme Court’s decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen. They argue that this decision, along with a lower court ruling using the same framework, should protect Biden’s Second Amendment rights. They claim that asking about Biden’s drug use on a federal gun form is irrelevant to his right to gun ownership, and therefore, the charges against him are unjust.
In a bold move, Biden’s attorneys are also doubling down on a pretrial diversion agreement they inked in the summer. Although the plea deal collapsed, they argue that the diversion agreement still stands, and it grants Biden immunity in relation to the alleged gun crimes. They are adamant that the court’s lack of approval does not nullify the agreement, and therefore Biden should be shielded from prosecution.
Finally, they are playing the victim card, alleging that the prosecution is nothing more than a vendetta against Biden and his father, President Joe Biden. They accused Weiss of succumbing to pressure from Republicans and pursuing the case solely because of the political clout of the Biden family.
It’s all too apparent that this case against Hunter Biden is nothing but a crooked game orchestrated by Democrats to target political adversaries. The baseless charges and politically motivated attacks reek of the swamp’s corruption. In the end, it’s clear that Hunter Biden is facing an unjust and politically fueled prosecution aimed at tarnishing his family’s reputation.
