Squad member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has stood by President Joe Biden, showing unwavering support for him despite criticism swirling around his debate performance against former President Donald Trump. During a conference call with the Congressional Black Caucus, Omar expressed her backing for Biden, emphasizing that, aside from a few dissenting voices, the majority of Democrats are firmly behind the president.

Echoing Omar’s sentiments, fellow squad member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) affirmed her support for Biden, asserting that the president is unequivocally the Democratic nominee and will not be stepping down. Refusing to entertain calls for Biden’s resignation, AOC stated definitively that “the matter is closed,” reinforcing the squad’s united front in standing by the president.
Ilhan Omar says Biden has her support and aside from a “few outliers,” she thinks Democrats are in sync with backing the president.

While pundits and critics may have initially clamored for Biden to exit the race following the contentious debate, the president’s steadfast commitment to soldier on has garnered support from within his party. Deflecting criticisms and doubts, Biden emphasized on MSNBC’s Morning Joe that he is dedicated to rebuilding the economy and providing opportunities for the middle class, dismissing detractors as “elites” out of touch with the American public’s sentiments.
As prominent Democrats rally behind Biden, the calls for him to step down have dwindled, with party members rallying around the president and condemning attempts to force him out of the race. Despite initial skepticism, Biden’s resilience and focus on key issues have swayed many within the party to reaffirm their support for his candidacy.
