Recent confrontations between Antifa and parental rights activists outside the administration of the Glendale Unified School District during a school board meeting to discuss LGBTQ+ curriculum have escalated. What mainstream media outlets neglect to mention, however, is that there were valid reasons for immigrants' anger and confrontation with the Antifa/LGBTQ coalition.

The outrage among immigrant families in Los Angeles was sparked by photographs from California schools revealing that events went beyond a basic "pride" month event. The photographs depict the use of Armenian colors/symbols in conjunction with LGBTQI+, pup play pride in the shape of a Christian cross. This orchestrated assault on Christian beliefs and Armenian culture justifiably infuriated Armenian-American families, prompting them to mobilize against the school boards, resulting in the second violent confrontation with Antifa.
It is not just pride events that parents are concerned about. Additional documents reveal that Glendale staff attempted to incorporate LGBTQ+ materials and ideology into additional curricula. One assistant principal even instructed staff to teach students that by default, everyone is "queer" and "socialist." Instead of allowing children to form their own opinions, this type of indoctrination forces them to embrace a particular belief system and identity.
The decision of the school board to implement LGBTQ+ "Pride" festivals and celebrations into June school days transcends mere "Pride activities." Parents have the right to know what their children will be taught and exposed to during the school day, and it is regrettable that the school board did not adequately address the parents' concerns prior to implementing this curriculum.
It is time to acknowledge that these immigrant families are contending for their culture and beliefs and should be heard. It is unacceptable for the police to go against Armenian Americans and drive back Armenians fighting against Antifa thugs. The media must stop portraying immigrants as the problem and recognize that they are merely contending for their rights and beliefs in the United States.
