President Joe Biden’s re-election hopes are looking dimmer as even prominent Democrats are considering not voting for him. Chris Cuomo, former CNN host and known for his fiery temper, admitted on a recent podcast that he is even considering voting for former President Donald Trump. This is a major blow to Biden, especially coming from someone within the Democratic Party.

Cuomo, a self-proclaimed Democrat, begrudgingly praised Biden for being nice to him when his father passed away. However, he quickly dismissed Biden as the best choice for president. He even went as far as saying that he doesn’t see any greater risk to America with Trump than with Biden. This is a stunning assessment, given Biden’s constant attacks on Trump during the 2020 election.
Cuomo’s wavering support for Biden raises questions about the Democratic Party’s confidence in their current leader. Some speculate that Democrats are positioning themselves to replace Biden with someone else, such as Michelle Obama or Gavin Newsom, in the 2024 election. While these theories may seem conspiratorial, they gain traction when prominent Democrats openly consider voting for Trump instead of supporting their own party’s nominee.
Regardless of the reasons behind Cuomo’s hesitations, it is clear that Biden’s leadership is falling short. The country is in a worse place under his leadership, and even Democrats are beginning to acknowledge it. As the 2024 election approaches, Biden will need to regain the trust and support of his party if he wants to have any chance of winning re-election.
