In the ever-continuing saga of President Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities, Senator Jon Tester (D-Mont.) found himself in the hot seat when NBC News asked him about his concerns regarding Biden’s age. Tester, who is facing an uphill battle for reelection, responded by saying that he believed Biden is “absolutely 100% with it” and that people were making a bigger deal out of it than it actually was. However, when Tester’s full answer was shown on the network, it became clear that his defense of Biden was not the win he thought it was.
Tester’s response included a glaring “out” when he said, “When I’ve been around him, and it’s not every day.” This statement raises eyebrows and suggests that Tester knows there are legitimate concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities but is giving himself an escape route. One GOP contender, Tim Sheehy, wasted no time criticizing Tester’s defense of Biden. He took to Twitter, highlighting Biden’s failures, corruption, and inability to speak coherently and pointed out that Tester’s support of the president was misguided. Sheehy’s sentiment resonates with conservative voters who are tired of having their intelligence insulted. If Tester expects to sail through his fourth run for Senate, he may be in for a rude awakening next year in the very red state of Montana. It seems that voters won’t buy into Tester’s claim that Biden is “absolutely 100 percent with it,” especially when the evidence suggests otherwise.
As the 2024 presidential campaign continues to unfold, it’s clear that concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities are not going away. This issue will likely play a significant role in the upcoming elections, as voters question whether Biden is fit for another four years in office. While Tester may have attempted to defend Biden, his remarks have only raised more suspicions.
