In a stunning decision, a federal judge has rejected a request from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to prevent a former deputy in his office from testifying before Congress about the criminal case being waged against President Donald Trump. The judge concluded that the House Judiciary Committee, led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), was well within their authority to subpoena ex-assistant district attorney Mark Pomerantz, citing the validity of their legislative purpose. DA Bragg had previously sued Rep. Jordan, accusing him of “interfering” in a local prosecution, but fortunately, Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil saw past Bragg’s political agenda and declined his frivolous lawsuit.

This subpoena and subsequent testimony are critical as the committee hopes to uncover the truth behind the district attorney’s decision to levy 34 felony charges against President Trump. The charges stem from a $130,000 payment made to an adult film star just days before the 2016 presidential election. However, DA Bragg’s ulterior motives behind this investigation are quite apparent, and it is clear that he is only pursuing these charges due to his political bias.

The ex-prosecutor, Mark Pomerantz, has been summoned to speak about his experience overseeing the office’s investigation into Trump before resigning after just a year, followed by publishing a tell-all book about his experience. Pomerantz was one of two attorneys who resigned in protest after Alvin Bragg initially declined to bring charges against Trump. It is clear that DA Bragg is merely using the case to cement his political career and showcase his allegiance to the Democrat Party.
Despite Judge Vyskocil’s favorable ruling, this investigation remains a political stunt designed to undermine and discredit the former president. The Democrats’ anti-Trump crusade is far from over, and they will stop at nothing to further their own agenda. The Democrats’ hunger for power is becoming all-consuming at the expense of the American people. Thankfully, we have a judiciary that refuses to bow down to their political antics and who will continue to uphold the rule of law.
