Kamala Harris Faces Growing Criticism from Within Her Own Party

Kamala Harris, the so-called vice president, seems to have taken a holiday from reason—can anyone blame her? If it weren’t for her infamous connections and a couple of well-placed political favors, it’s likely she would have remained a footnote in California’s political history. Rumor has it Joe Biden desperately wanted a splashy photo op with a woman of color, and voila! Instant vice president, complete with a laughable résumé that resembles her approval ratings: mostly empty.

Following the election, many Democrats seem more than eager to keep Harris far away from the spotlight. After a luxury vacation in Hawaii at $1,300 a night, the hope was that she’d pull a Houdini and vanish from the political scene, perhaps lounging with a mai tai while the rest of the Biden administration tiptoes around her. Let’s face it—Harris has achieved so little in office that it would be straightforward for her to dip out and no one would notice. Yet, like a bad smell that lingers, she returned just in time to break the Thanksgiving cheer with a video that felt reminiscent of a drunken phone call made at 2 AM.

Harris might be the first politician to blow through a staggering $1.5 billion campaign fund and end up $20 million in debt. That’s quite the accomplishment, and it’s left Democrat big wigs scratching their heads. John Morgan, a prominent Democrat donor, expressed astonishment at her ability to squander funds with the grace of a kid in a candy store, suggesting this level of incompetence might just disqualify her from any future endeavors. But let’s not be too surprised; many voters saw this coming long before the campaign hit the ground running.

To add further insult to injury, Harris is still out there hustling for donations as if it’s payday for everyone else and she somehow missed the memo. Her campaign emails have taken on an increasingly desperate tone, appealing not only to party loyalty but warning of a Trumpian apocalypse unless donations start rolling in. Apparently, the message is that Harris can’t support the Democrats against the MAGA menace unless everyone fills her coffers again. If there’s one thing she proves consistently, it’s that she can turn a bad investment into an even worse financial spectacle.

Among her own party, sentiments vary wildly, with some Democrats voicing their dissatisfaction at her amateurish fundraising tactics. Even those vying for key party positions are shaking their heads at the optics of a failed candidate haunting the Democratic National Committee with her endless requests for cash. It seems they’re starting to realize that her antics don’t reflect well on the party’s future.

The time might just have come for the Harris campaign to fade quietly into history. After all, her tenure has been marked by missed opportunities and unfulfilled promises, leading many to suggest a thorough autopsy of the campaign. The inevitable truth remains: it might serve both her and the Democrats well if everyone accepted her exit was past due.
