Kamala Harris is having a week that even a cartoon character would find hard to believe. With barely 45 days left until the Election Day showdown, her 2024 campaign appears to be as listless as a flounder on the deck of a fishing boat. Polls are showing her trailing like a dog that lost its master, and on top of that, she’s facing the grim possibility of a large-scale regional conflict in the Middle East. Meanwhile, her performance in responding to Hurricane Helene has been so lackluster it might as well have been a slow-motion disaster movie. Sure, the ports strike has been postponed temporarily, but this administration is still grappling with a level of dysfunction that would make even the maligned Three Stooges weep.
The Biden-Harris administration is a two-man band playing out of tune. While one half of the duo famously struggles with the slippery grip of coherent thought, the other can barely make it through a speech without his trusty teleprompter. During a rally in Michigan, the glitchy piece of tech decided to take a vacation, leaving Harris to flounder through an impromptu speech with all the grace of a rhino on ice skates. Instead of rallying the crowd with pithy remarks, she stuck to one emphatic phrase: “32 days.” That’s right, folks—32 days until the election, and she repeated it like a broken record, trying to make heaven knows what point.
In a particularly cringe-worthy moment, the Vice President seemed to forget how to speak altogether. As the teleprompter sputtered and died, her ability to deliver anything resembling a coherent thought evaporated faster than a puddle in the desert. Instead of taking control of the narrative and inspiring her supporters, she resorted to a mantra that would make any motivational speaker cringe out of sheer embarrassment. As she insisted on reminding the crowd of the countdown to Election Day, it became abundantly clear that, without her safety net, she was lost in her own verbal labyrinth.

The comedy of errors that is the Harris campaign is hardly surprising when one considers the broader context of the Biden presidency. A catastrophic series of domestic and foreign policy missteps has created a landscape riddled with crises, all under the watchful but seemingly oblivious eyes of Biden and Harris. These two figures have demonstrated a level of incompetence that suggests they’d struggle to manage even a lemonade stand. And if the public thinks that Harris can somehow remedy economic turmoil or geopolitical tensions, then they might also believe that cats can bark.
What does it mean if Kamala Harris emerges victorious in this election? Echoes of chaos and dysfunction would likely continue to reverberate through the halls of power. If Biden’s presidency has been a lesson in how not to govern, a Harris win would be tantamount to a masterclass in doubling down on those failures. With opponents that have already outmaneuvered Biden on the global stage, one can only imagine how much worse things could become if Harris finds herself actually signing off on policy decisions. If there’s one thing that has become clear, it’s that “32 days” has never felt more like a countdown to disaster.
