Vice President Kamala Harris appears to have taken a mental vacation, leaving behind the very promise of being an “agent of change.” In a series of recent interviews, she struggled to identify a single policy from the previous four years that she would amend. One has to wonder if her brain is still buffering from the repeated “Biden-Harris Administration” slogan that seems more like a broken record than a campaign theme.
This unintentional comedy routine not only reflects poorly on Harris’s grasp of the job but also exacerbates President Biden’s attempts to merge their administration identities. In a remarkable display of both denial and unity, Biden claims that Harris is his right-hand woman in every policy decision made. This may have worked well for a sitcom, but Americans looking for real solutions aren’t laughing. If they are indeed on the same page, then the failures of the last four years are certainly a joint effort.

When asked about any regrets or changes she would make, her brain scrambled to find a coherent thought amid a series of “I, I, I” repetitions. If this is the pinnacle of her new leadership style, it’s safe to say the next generation should brace themselves—because the old policies are still standing strong while her new ideas barely make it off the ground.
The situation gets even more ironic when discussing the border crisis. Harris conveniently places the blame on Congress while conveniently ignoring her administration’s role in reversing effective border policies. It’s like watching a magician performing tricks, only to reveal that the only thing disappearing is any responsibility for the crisis on their watch. While she calls for congressional action, it’s worth remembering that her administration has been busy undoing the very rules designed to maintain order.
In the grand scheme of things, Kamala Harris has made it clear that she’s not really into changing much, and as the Biden-Harris administration continues to flounder, perhaps this “new generation of leadership” will instead be remembered as a generation of the same old failures. The translation from her ambitious desire for change to a series of unfulfilled promises might just win the award for “Most Unexpected Plot Twist”—right alongside the floundering Biden presidency.
