Kamala Harris Team Prepared for Biden Exit Despite Party Optimism

Kamala Harris’s campaign team may have earned a few gold stars in the realm of preemptive planning, especially concerning the potential need to step into the helm should Joe Biden’s health take a nosedive. According to new insights from the upcoming book “FIGHT: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House,” Team Harris had game plans ready long before the gaffe-laden debates with Donald Trump. It seems their strategy sessions included a rather morbid “death pool” concept—though it could be argued that this kind of preparation borders on the macabre, it demonstrates a level of foresight more canny than many politicians exhibit these days.

Contrary to the Democratic narrative that touted Biden as a beacon of vitality, insiders revealed that Harris’s team was in on the joke. They concocted all sorts of scenarios around his potential exit from the office, planning for contingencies that would make even the most dramatic sitcom writers envious. This wasn’t just a casual “what-if” gathering; it involved creating a roster of officials who could be sworn in on a whim, alerting each other to the slightest sign of Biden’s decline. Apparently, they weren’t just worried about his speaking engagements but also about whether he could find his way down the White House corridors without a GPS.

Importantly, this clearance-level foresight showcased a clear divide between the Party faithful and the reality facing the nation. While Harris’s inner circle understood the stakes—and the risks of an unsteady president—the rest of the Democrats were still patting themselves on the back for having an “unstoppable” leader. However, knowing that Biden might barely remember where to find the East Room, complete with ill-placed colorful tape, paints a rather comedic but tragic picture of a presidency in decline. Yet, the narrative was still stitched together by the mainstream media as if Biden were still highly capable, leading the free world through his dazzling intellect.

Harris’s preparation, although decidedly predicated on disaster, shows just how adept she is at playing the political game. The Democrats crafted a variety of exit strategies for Biden, whether it be through a sudden health scare or an awkward yet graceful bow out before the primaries. What they seem to have neglected, however, is the reality that if the time came for Harris to step up, she’d be the last person any sane voter would want at the helm. The Democratic Party had all their ducks in a row but forgot to ensure that one of those ducks was at least electable.

In a bizarre twist of political irony, while Democrats eyed graceful exits for Biden, the unfortunate truth remained that they were stuck with Kamala Harris—the very definition of an unelectable candidate whose primary claim to fame has now devolved into being the first woman of color to occupy the vice-presidential post. It appears that in their scramble for contingency plans, Democratic leaders failed to notice that an embattled team filled with “what if” scenarios couldn’t swaddle a candidate whose every idea and proceeding seemed destined for the dumpster.

In this game of political chess, one thing was made abundantly clear: Harris’s team may have been ready for Biden’s departure, but they couldn’t have predicted their own party’s fall from grace. As the old saying goes, everyone has a plan until Biden walks off the stage mumbling his way into oblivion. What remains to be seen is whether Kamala can truly hold her ground when the curtains draw back and it’s her turn to shine—or at least not trip over the fluorescent tape leading her to the spotlight.
