The latest conspiracy theory to come out of the left-wing camp involves political adviser Dmitri Mehlhorn, trusted confidant to Democrat megadonor Reid Hoffman. Mehlhorn allegedly suggested to sympathetic journalists that the shooting of former President Donald Trump could have been staged for political gain. Drawing comparisons to Russian tactics and false flag operations, Mehlhorn insinuated that Trump may have orchestrated the attack himself.
Mehlhorn’s outlandish theories do not stop there. He pondered whether the shooting was a ploy by an anti-Trumper or a classic Putin play. The idea of Trump staging an assassination attempt on himself is so absurd that it borders on comedy, but Mehlhorn seemed dead serious about his beliefs.

Hoffman’s ties to controversial figures like Jeffrey Epstein and his involvement in alleged election meddling only add fuel to the fire. From funding questionable political ads to cozying up to the Chinese Communist Party, Hoffman’s track record is riddled with shady dealings.
The left’s desperation to paint Trump in a negative light knows no bounds. While Mehlhorn’s conspiracy theories may entertain a few fringe individuals, they ultimately expose the depths to which some on the left will sink to demonize their political opponents. It’s a sad state of affairs when baseless accusations and wild speculations become the norm in political discourse.
