LGBTQ Activists Demand Biden and Trump Address Their Agenda in Upcoming Debate

LGBTQ activists are up in arms, warning that if President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump don’t give them the attention they believe they deserve during Thursday night’s debate, they’ll be feeling mighty slighted. Sarah Kate Ellis, the big cheese over at GLAAD, is pulling out all the stops to ensure the LGBTQ community gets its moment in the spotlight.

In a letter to CNN moderators Dana Bash and Jake Tapper, Ellis made it clear that she expects nothing less than full-on LGBTQ interrogation during the debate. From past statements to future plans, she wants the candidates to spill the tea on how they’re going to “advance the rights” of LGBTQ folks. Because, you know, the fate of the LGBTQ community apparently hangs in the balance of this debate – or so Ellis would have you believe.

It’s almost comical how Ellis paints the LGBTQ community as the ultimate deciders of the 2024 election, just like they supposedly were in 2020. Such grandiose delusions of political grandeur. But hey, Ellis is adamant that the LGBTQ crowd must be front and center in all the debates, making sure the candidates address issues like marriage equality, LGBTQ hate crimes, gender-affirming healthcare, and the ever-popular Equality Act.
And of course, let’s not forget Annise Parker from the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, who is eagerly anticipating the debate to showcase the stark differences between Biden and Trump on LGBTQ matters. Because, in her eyes, the LGBTQ community deserves a prime seat at the political table.

As the debate unfolds in Atlanta – conveniently during LGBTQ Pride Month – it seems the LGBTQ activists are gearing up for a showdown. With most Americans expected to tune in, the LGBTQ community is ready to flex its muscles and show its supposed influence in the upcoming election. It’s all quite the dramatic performance, worthy of a standing ovation… or perhaps an eye roll, depending on your viewpoint.
