Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is packing his bags and leaving Capitol Hill, but boy, did the guy get a surprise last week. Apparently, Manchin was caught off guard by his party’s leader going toe-to-toe with Donald Trump. Now, Manchin isn’t some woke, latte-sipping liberal. He’s a throwback to the days when Democrats actually made sense—a conservative guy from good old rural America. Manchin’s a centrist by modern Democratic standards, which pretty much makes him a unicorn in today’s lefty circus.
After last week’s train wreck of a Biden debate, Manchin was itching to speak out on national TV. But guess what happened? The White House goons and big-shot Democrats swooped in to silence him. According to Politico, Manchin was so worried about Biden’s performance that he almost spilled the beans on a Sunday news show. A source close to him confirmed these concerns, but alas, Manchin got strong-armed into keeping quiet.

Manchin spent days chatting with key allies, revealing his view that the American people deserved some straight talk from Biden. However, before he could go on his TV tell-all, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called him up and laid down the law. Well, the message was clear: keep those lips zipped. Manchin’s office and the Biden campaign took a vow of silence, refusing to comment on the whole drama. The Senate conveniently went into recess, of course.
Now, isn’t this a curious case? Whatever Manchin might have said wouldn’t have shifted a single vote in West Virginia, a state that’s solidly rolling out the red carpet for Trump. Plus, he wasn’t about to spew anything more damning than what Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) had already said regarding Biden’s disastrous debate. Whitehouse was downright appalled, let’s be honest.
Anyway, it looks like Manchin got muzzled for nothing because the dam has officially burst. Suddenly, top donors, Biden officials, White House aides, and even intelligence officials are chiming in with their two cents on Biden’s mental fitness. The leaks are gushing out and keep on coming. Yet, isn’t it funny how the media took its sweet time revealing these growing concerns?
But everyone knows why that is.
