In a surprising turn of events, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia has announced that he will not be seeking re-election. And let’s be honest, it’s not like the conservatives in West Virginia are shedding any tears over this news.

Manchin, a Democrat, broke the news himself, saying that he has decided to focus on “traveling the country and speaking out to see if there is an interest in creating a movement to mobilize the middle and bring Americans together.” Well, good luck with that, Joe. Because if there’s one thing Americans love, it’s being told what to do by a career politician.
But hey, maybe it’s for the best. Manchin has been causing quite a ruckus within his own party, often siding with Republicans on important issues. It’s like he’s trying to play both sides of the fence, and we all know how well that usually works out.
So, goodbye Joe! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. And let’s hope the good people of West Virginia can find someone who actually represents their values in the next election.
