Mayor Johnson Defends Biden as Democrats Fumble and GOP Rallies

Milwaukee’s mayor, Cavalier Johnson, wasted no time scolding his fellow Democrats for their collective meltdown over President Joe Biden’s train-wreck debate performance. As Republicans prepare for a smooth-sailing convention to nominate Donald Trump for 2024, the left is proving they can’t keep their own house in order. Johnson seems oblivious to the fact that his pep talks can’t change the reality Democrats are facing.

In an interview, Johnson cautioned his party against pushing Biden aside, calling it counterproductive and a recipe for chaos. It’s as if Johnson is the only one who missed Biden’s latest blunder that left Democrats wondering if they should start shopping for a new nominee. Leave it to the Democrats to ignore the iceberg because rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is apparently a priority.

Meanwhile, Republicans have been gearing up for various scenarios, including Trump possibly facing a jail sentence over his hush-money case. But hey, Lady Luck is smiling on Trump, with a judge delaying his sentencing until September thanks to a Supreme Court ruling that might flip the entire verdict. While the Democrats scramble, Trump is pulling ahead in the polls by a solid six-point lead, following Biden’s stammering debate fiasco.

Desperately clinging to his sinking ship, Johnson insisted Biden had just one bad night and that his record will carry him through November. It’s as if they’re discussing a baseball player who struck out once rather than a president who’s falling apart at the seams. Unsurprisingly, Johnson faulted his party members for not recognizing Biden’s so-called achievements, claiming they were too focused on the disastrous debate performance.

It’s almost comical how Democrats quickly descend into chaos at the first sign of trouble. Already, some swing-district Democrats have declared Biden’s re-election campaign dead, while others shout for a fresh nominee. In classic Democrat fashion, Johnson compared Biden’s debate stumble to Obama’s first debate in 2012, deluding himself into believing Biden could snap back just as easily. It’s wishful thinking of the highest order.

Johnson’s loyalty remains with Biden, painting a picture of unity while the rest of his party is busy drafting letters asking Biden to step down. Rep. Lloyd Doggett from Texas has already broken ranks, becoming the first Democrat to vocalize what many are thinking. All the while, party operatives and pundits are hard at work behind the scenes plotting for Biden’s exit.

To make matters even more entertaining, Johnson claims the Democrats should be more worried about Trump. His obsession seems almost personal, evidenced by his defensive remarks aimed at the former president. Calling Trump a liar is Johnson’s go-to strategy, as if he’s hoping some magical incantation will erase Biden’s blunders. Nice try, Mayor, but the American public isn’t buying what you’re selling.

Trump, who narrowly lost Wisconsin in 2020, stands ready to reclaim his victory in 2024. While Democrats brace for a potentially contested convention in Chicago, Republicans are set for a drama-free convention, confident in their nominee and unified in their mission. Democrats, it’s time to face the music: your leading man is aging out of the role, and no amount of spin can change that.
