House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is set to give an update on the government shutdown and the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. Good ol’ McCarthy knows how to keep things interesting! He’s scheduled to start his speech at 8 p.m., which I’m sure will be a real thrill. And what perfect timing! Just today, they announced some witnesses for the investigation. Talk about suspense!
But let’s not forget the real deadline here. McCarthy has until September 30th to pass the spending legislation and avoid a government shutdown. That’s right around the corner, folks! I hope McCarthy has been practicing his negotiation skills because he’s going to need them.

Now, let’s talk about these witnesses. The House Oversight Committee is bringing in some heavy hitters. We’ve got a forensic accountant with 40 years of experience, a former assistant attorney general from the Department of Justice’s tax division, and a Shapiro chairman. I don’t know what a Shapiro chairman is, but it sure sounds important. I’m guessing these folks are going to be digging into Biden’s finances with a fine-tooth comb. Gotta love a good financial investigation!
Overall, it looks like things are heating up in Washington. McCarthy is ready to spill the beans on the impeachment inquiry and the impending government shutdown. Will he have any surprises up his sleeve? Only time will tell, my friends. Stay tuned!
