While the woman is expected to recover, the incident has raised questions about whether this was an act of random misfortune or part of a broader campaign of hostility against Elon Musk’s company. Authorities are investigating the case, but it comes amid a wave of attacks on Tesla vehicles and facilities across North America.
The rise in anti-Tesla sentiment coincides with Elon Musk’s prominent role in the Trump administration as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk’s efforts to streamline federal operations and cut waste have drawn ire from left-wing activists, many of whom view him as a symbol of capitalism and wealth.
