Media Bias Exposed: Only 3.4% of Journalists Admit Being Republicans

The recent study published by the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University has finally quantified what many already suspected: the media is overwhelmingly liberal.

The study, based on an online survey of 1,600 U.S. journalists, revealed that only a measly 3.4 percent of them identified as Republicans. The findings showcase a clear liberal bias in the media, capturing a snapshot of modern journalism that surprises absolutely no one on the right side of the political spectrum.

Furthermore, the study illustrated a remarkable decline in the number of journalists identifying as Republicans. Since 2013, the percentage has dropped by over half. And looking back to the days of Nixon, it’s even more obvious that journalism has taken a nose dive into a pool of liberal bias. In 1971, a whopping 25.7 percent of journalists called themselves Republicans, but now we’re down to a meager 3.4 percent.

The study also provided insight into journalists’ political affiliations, with findings reflecting a predictable liberal preoccupation with diversity and the so-called gender pay gap.

The education level of journalists was also a key focus of the study. Shockingly (or not), 96.4 percent of respondents held at least a four-year bachelor’s degree. And the percentage has been steadily climbing since 1971 when it stood at 58.2 percent. It’s like a liberal arts degree is a prerequisite for getting into the journalistic inner circle.

Another striking revelation was the journalist disdain for reaching a mass audience, with only 7.4 percent of respondents considering it “extremely important.” It seems like modern journalists are more interested in impressing their elitist peers than informing the general public. And their attitude toward social media has done a complete 180 since 2013, with the majority now viewing its impact on journalism as negative.

The study shows that journalism has become an elitist pursuit, with the Democratic Party serving as the mouthpiece for these liberal elites. It’s no longer about informing the public; it’s about maintaining the status quo and keeping the powerful in power.
